COMPLEMENTARY FEED FOR CALVES, LAMBS, KIDS, BUFFALO CALVES

Intake of adequate amounts of colostrum in the first hours of life is the most important single factor in preventing neonatal diseases calf, administration of colostrum should be within 2/6 hours of birth. The calves manifest an immune deficiency by insufficient administration of colostrum when the immunoglobulins (IgG) blood to 24-48 hours are <10 mg/mL. The correct system used to determine the quality of the colostrum is its concentration in IgG. A good colostrum has a higher concentration of 50 mg/mL of IgG. Its concentration is very variable, however, going from 9 mg/mL to 186 mg/mL. The causes of these variations are related to the health conditions of the mother and the environment in which it lives, in combination with its age, body condition, genetics and nutrition plan even if others are not controllable (genetics, age of the animal).
GLOBIFEN can be used as a complement to the mother’s colostrum or total replacement.
The product must be dissolved in hot water and orally administered in adequate amounts in order to ensure the correct assumption of the calf IgG. The administration of GLOBIFEN, as well as that of the mother’s colostrum, should be made as soon as possible and within few hours of birth.
